2013 Morgan 3-Wheeler Auction Result Reported by Bring a Trailer

Bring a Trailer reported the sale of a 2013 Morgan 3-Wheeler for $32,000. The three-wheeled roadster with a 1,979cc V-twin engine showed 4,800 miles and drew strong interest.

The unusual British roadster Morgan 3-Wheeler from 2013 has changed hands on the Bring a Trailer auction platform, selling for $32,000 after an active round of bidding in the final minutes. The three-wheeled machine, showing 4,800 miles on its odometer, attracted hundreds of watchers and steady bidding activity throughout the auction.

This particular example is finished in Sport Green with a Saddle Brown leather interior, a combination that highlights the classic visual character of the model. The exterior is enhanced by the Bright Pack, which adds a polished grille surround, chrome-finished engine details, roll hoops, and bright headlight buckets. Additional elements include twin windscreens, outboard-mounted headlights, a chrome removable cargo rack, and 19-inch wire-spoke front wheels.

Power comes from a 1,979cc S&S Cycle X-Wedge V-twin mounted prominently at the front of the vehicle. The engine features electronic fuel injection and works with a five-speed manual transmission. Power is delivered to the single rear wheel through a driveshaft, bevel box, and final-drive belt — a layout that remains one of the defining mechanical features of the modern Morgan 3-Wheeler.

The seller acquired the car in 2024 and subsequently carried out a number of maintenance tasks and updates. These included installation of a crank pulley update kit, replacement of the timing belt, front camshaft seal and crank seals, new tubes and tires, and servicing of the bevel box. The work was accompanied by an oil change.

Some improvements had already been carried out before the car reached its first owner. Morgan installed a Comfort Suspension Upgrade and an updated bevel box mounting kit at that stage. In 2024 the vehicle also received a bolt-in chassis K-brace.

The cockpit reflects the minimalist character typical of Morgan’s three-wheeled machines. Two seats trimmed in Saddle Brown leather are paired with matching armrests and dashboard panels. Equipment includes three-point seatbelts, aircraft-style toggle switches, leather-trimmed rubber floor mats, and a power outlet beneath the dashboard.

Instrumentation consists of VDO gauges, including a 130-mph speedometer and a 7,000-rpm tachometer. The leather-wrapped steering wheel is mounted on a quick-release hub, reinforcing the mechanical and driver-focused nature of the vehicle.

Behind the cockpit sits a rear-hinged luggage compartment. Removing the trunk liner reveals access to the rear wheel and suspension, as well as two aluminum fuel tanks mounted on either side of the swingarm.

A Carfax report records the vehicle’s entry into the United States from the United Kingdom in June 2014, along with a service entry in Illinois in October 2023. The sale included a Morgan-branded car cover, a green two-piece tonneau cover, an owner’s manual, a tool kit, a battery tender, keys, and service documentation.

The modern Morgan 3-Wheeler was produced between 2011 and 2021, reviving the three-wheel concept that originally helped establish the British manufacturer in the early twentieth century. With its exposed V-twin engine, lightweight construction and open cockpit layout, the car offers a driving experience that stands apart from conventional modern sports cars.

Examples from the early years of the modern production run continue to draw attention among enthusiasts. Low-mileage cars with documented maintenance histories, such as this 2013 example, remain especially appealing to collectors and fans of Morgan’s distinctive engineering philosophy.
