Acura Introduces Honda Heritage Parts for First NSX
Acura reports the launch of Honda Heritage Parts in the U.S., starting with reproduction components for the first-generation NSX, with dealer orders expected from summer 2026.
Acura has announced the launch of a new classic vehicle support initiative in the United States called Honda Heritage Parts, starting with reproduction components for the first-generation Acura NSX. Owners will be able to order these parts through Acura dealerships nationwide, with availability expected to begin in the summer of 2026.
The initiative forms part of the broader global program Honda Heritage Works, created to preserve and support historic Honda and Acura models. According to the company, the project aims to help enthusiasts continue driving these iconic vehicles decades after production has ended.
The program introduces two categories of components. The first, Genuine Honda Reproduction Parts, consists of parts reproduced using the same materials and manufacturing methods as the original components. The second category, Honda Compatible Parts, includes newly developed replacement parts designed for components that are no longer available for sale.
Honda says the program became possible thanks to a new collaborative framework with suppliers as well as advances in materials and production methods. These developments make it feasible to reproduce parts that have long disappeared from official catalogs.
The first model to benefit from the initiative will be the first-generation Acura NSX, one of the most recognizable Japanese sports cars. Produced from 1990 to 2005, the NSX became a landmark model for the brand, featuring a mid-engine layout and an aluminum body and chassis structure that helped establish its reputation as one of the most technologically advanced supercars of its era.
Honda Heritage Parts will cover a wide range of components, including powertrain elements, interior and exterior parts, electrical systems, and chassis components. The goal, according to the company, is to ensure that these vehicles can remain on the road for years to come.
Alongside the parts program, Honda is also launching another branch of the Heritage Works initiative: the Honda Restoration Service. This factory-based restoration program will focus on bringing classic vehicles back to their original condition. At the initial stage, however, the service will be offered only in Japan and specifically for Japanese-market first-generation NSX models.
The new initiative effectively replaces the earlier NSX Refresh Plan, which allowed owners to send their cars to the factory for comprehensive refurbishment. Under the new structure, restoration services and reproduction parts are now combined within the broader Heritage Works framework.
Honda also says that parts for other Acura and Honda performance models are currently under evaluation for inclusion in the program. Additional details, including the list of available components and pricing, are expected to be announced closer to the official launch.
The launch of Heritage Parts reflects a growing trend among automakers to support historically important vehicles. For owners of classic performance cars, such initiatives can make it significantly easier to maintain original specifications without relying on rare or unofficial aftermarket components.
