2004 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale Listed on Bring a Trailer
Bring a Trailer reports a 9k-mile 2004 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale offered at auction, featuring Rosso Scuderia paint, factory racing livery and 3.6-liter V8 power.
A 2004 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale with approximately 9,000 miles is currently up for auction on Bring a Trailer, where bidding has already reached $750,000. The auction is scheduled to end on March 20, and interest in the car is clearly strong, with thousands of views and more than a thousand watchers following the listing.
The model itself occupies a special place in Ferrari history. Introduced in 2003, the 360 Challenge Stradale was conceived as a track-focused evolution of the 360 Modena, inspired directly by Ferrari’s one-make Ferrari Challenge racing series. The philosophy behind the car was straightforward: reduce weight, sharpen the chassis, and deliver a driving experience closer to that of a race car while remaining road legal.
Fewer than 1,300 examples of the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale were produced, which has long placed the model in the category of modern collectible Ferraris. The example currently offered at auction stands out thanks to several distinctive characteristics.
The car is finished in Rosso Scuderia and features a factory two-tone racing livery. Inside, it combines black and red leather with carbon-fiber racing seats. According to the vehicle configuration extracted from Ferrari’s database, the interior follows a Rosso theme with carbon-fiber seats and special stitching details.
The Challenge Stradale was engineered as a lighter and more focused version of the 360 platform. Extensive use of carbon-fiber components and reduced sound insulation helped lower the car’s weight by roughly 110 kilograms compared with the standard 360 Modena.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter Tipo F131 V8 featuring a flat-plane crankshaft and dry-sump lubrication. The engine produces 425 horsepower, an increase over the regular 360 Modena. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through an electro-hydraulic six-speed F1 sequential transmission paired with a limited-slip differential.
The chassis setup also differs from the base model. The suspension features stiffer tuning and titanium springs, while braking is handled by Ferrari carbon-ceramic discs, one of the defining technical features of the model.
This particular example rides on 19-inch Challenge-style wheels and is equipped with a carbon-fiber front splitter, rear diffuser, and a Tubi Style exhaust system. Ahead of the sale, the car received recent maintenance including a timing belt service, oil change, replacement fuel pumps, and a new drive belt.
The sale includes the owner’s manual, tool kit, and a car cover. A Carfax report shows no accidents or reported damage.
Values for the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale have risen significantly in recent years. While examples once traded in the $350,000–$450,000 range, rare low-mileage cars now command far higher prices. In 2026, one example sold on Bring a Trailer for nearly $1 million.
Against that backdrop, the current $750,000 bid appears consistent with the market for well-preserved cars with desirable factory specifications. The final result will be known once the auction closes, but the strong early interest suggests that the Challenge Stradale remains one of the most sought-after roadgoing Ferraris of its generation.
