Mercedes-Benz opens first high-power EV charging hub with 24-Autohöfe in Wernberg-Koblitz, offering 400kW stations, services and MB.CHARGE integration.

At the intersection of two major German motorways — A93 and A6 — a new era of EV charging begins. Mercedes-Benz has inaugurated its first High-Power Charging Hub in Wernberg-Köblitz, marking the start of a strategic partnership with the motorway service chain 24-Autohöfe. This initiative signals a serious push toward enhancing charging infrastructure across Germany.

The newly opened charging park features six high-speed stations with up to 400 kW capacity, enabling ultra-fast charging for all compatible vehicles. But the project is not just about speed — it's about experience. The site offers wide, accessible architecture, the iconic 3D chrome Mercedes-Benz star, ambient LED status lighting, and Plug & Charge technology, which starts charging automatically when the cable is connected.

Importantly, the hub is open to all car brands. However, Mercedes-Benz drivers benefit from seamless integration with MB.CHARGE Public, including route planning with live availability, charging spot reservations, and authentication via the MBUX system, app, or charging card.

The choice of Wernberg-Köblitz is no coincidence. This is where the first 24-Autohöfe location was established 26 years ago. Today, under the leadership of Dr. Jessica Böse, the company operates over 20 full-service locations, partnering with Shell, McDonald’s, Subway, and Lavazza. The Wernberg site features a restaurant, cafés, a children's play area, showers, a shop, and even outdoor fitness facilities — all open 24/7.

The collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and 24-Autohöfe is set to expand. Over ten charging hubs are planned across Germany, with more expected in other European countries. By the end of this decade, Mercedes-Benz aims to establish more than 10,000 high-power charging points worldwide, forming a critical part of its electrification and customer convenience strategy.
