Bugatti and Factor Bikes present the Bugatti Factor ONE, a limited bicycle with advanced carbon design, custom components, and aerodynamic engineering beyond UCI rules.

Bugatti has unveiled a bicycle that deliberately steps beyond the limits of professional racing rules. The Bugatti Factor ONE is not just another model, but an engineering experiment where UCI restrictions are set aside in pursuit of maximum aerodynamic efficiency and performance.

The project is the result of a collaboration with British brand Factor Bikes, founded by former professional cyclist and carbon engineering specialist Rob Gitelis. Known for its in-house development and production of frames, and for supplying bikes to professional teams, Factor brings a technical foundation that goes far beyond design collaboration. The result is a machine shaped by both cycling and motorsport engineering expertise.

The core concept behind the Bugatti Factor ONE is the removal of UCI constraints. In standard competition, bicycles must comply with strict regulations covering weight, geometry, and aerodynamics, including a minimum weight of 6.8 kg and limits on frame design. Here, those boundaries are removed. This has enabled a radically reworked structure, including a wider front fork and a redesigned frontal profile focused on optimizing airflow interaction with the wheel and frame.

Similar ideas have appeared in Factor’s experimental developments, where increased spacing between fork elements and the front wheel helps reduce turbulence and improve airflow. In modern cycling design, the front section of the bike is considered critical for aerodynamic gains, with major manufacturers concentrating their efforts there. The Bugatti Factor ONE pushes this approach further by operating outside the conventional rulebook.

At its core is advanced carbon construction, the defining material of high-performance bicycles. Carbon allows engineers to precisely tune stiffness and compliance in different parts of the frame, affecting both power transfer and ride comfort. The production process involves complex layering of carbon fibers, often requiring dozens or even hundreds of individual elements, which reflects both the technical sophistication and the cost of such machines.

The project extends beyond the frame itself. The bike features bespoke components from specialized manufacturers, including Black Inc wheels with a 62 mm profile weighing 1298 grams per pair, Carbon-Ti drivetrain and braking elements, a Selle Italia saddle, and Continental tires designed to balance rolling resistance and grip. In this segment, every component functions as part of a unified performance system.

Visually, the bike draws directly from Bugatti’s design language, with a two-tone split graphic, the signature Bugatti Blue, and the iconic “Dancing Elephant” emblem. This reflects a broader strategy in which the brand translates its hypercar identity into other categories, from watches to accessories, often through limited and highly curated collaborations.

Limited to 250 units and unveiled in Shanghai on March 18, 2026, the Bugatti Factor ONE sits at the intersection of sport, engineering, and collectible design. In this space, competition is defined not only by speed, but by rarity and the level of execution.
