Four Mulliner Continuation Series Bentleys race at Le Mans Classic, echoing the iconic 1929 Bentley Boys team and marking Bentley's largest works entry since 1930.

Bentley is reviving the spirit of the legendary Bentley Boys by fielding four Continuation Series cars — three Blowers and one Speed Six — at the upcoming Le Mans Classic. From July 3 to 6, the historic La Sarthe circuit will witness the largest official Bentley works entry since 1930.

This recreation is more than symbolic. In June, the proud owners of the Continuation Series gathered on Mount Street in London to mirror the iconic 1929 Bentley Boys photograph. Back then, Barnato and Birkin led Bentley to a dominant 1-2-3-4 finish at Le Mans. Today, Mulliner Classic invites owners to step into that same heritage — not just to admire these machines, but to race them.

Technically, the modern Blower and Speed Six stay faithful to their 1920s blueprints. The Blower runs a 4½-litre supercharged engine producing around 240 horsepower, while the Speed Six carries a 6½-litre unit with roughly 200 horsepower. Each of the twelve examples per series has been built by hand to authentic specifications.

Before heading to Le Mans, the cars and drivers put their machines through their paces at the Donington Classic in May. For many owners, it was a rare chance to push these century-old designs to their limits in real race conditions. Owners like Jack Boyd Smith Jr. highlight that joining Mulliner’s classic racing programme makes them part of a unique fraternity, continuing the Bentley Boys’ legacy.

Race Manager Dave Argent, known for his role with the Bentley Motorsport Continental GT3 programme, oversees the team’s preparation and support. With this carefully planned effort, Bentley’s team is looking to do more than just appear — they hope to channel the winning spirit of the 1920s and keep the marque’s legend alive among historic racing enthusiasts.
