Bentley Design Studio unveiled inside historic Front of House
Bentley reveals its new Design Studio in Crewe’s iconic building, restoring heritage while shaping future electric models under Beyond100+ strategy.
Bentley Motors has taken another confident step on its ambitious Beyond100+ journey by officially opening a new Design Studio in Crewe — right inside the iconic Front of House building dating back to 1939. The careful restoration of the historic facade and the original brass stairwell highlights the brand’s philosophy of blending heritage with forward-thinking innovation.
The new studio now brings together exterior and interior designers, colour and trim specialists, the bespoke Mulliner division and UX/UI experts under one roof. This isn’t just a symbolic reshuffle: Bentley aims to accelerate the creation of future models, including its fully electric cars that will become the core of the range by 2035.
The creative space has nearly doubled in size thanks to a new third floor, expanding the team to around fifty designers. For Bentley, this project is not just about walls and architecture — it’s part of the marque’s largest-ever investment plan: £2.5 billion will modernise production and build the so-called Dream Factory — a flexible, fully digital and carbon-neutral facility.
The official opening was attended by Chairman and CEO Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, renowned architect and TV presenter George Clarke and Bentley’s 4,000-strong workforce. Just a day later, Bentley unveiled the EXP 15 concept — its first fully electric project blending grand tourer and SUV elements.
Another highlight was the updated Bentley Wings emblem. This new badge marks only the fifth iteration in 106 years — designer Yang Nam drew inspiration from the silhouette of a peregrine falcon and luxury watch elements, simplifying the wings and sharpening their look for modern digital use.
The transformation of Front of House once again demonstrates Bentley’s approach: building the future without losing sight of its roots. A commemorative plaque on the restored stairwell now marks the point where history meets the marque’s bold shift into the electric era.
