2026 Dodge Charger Scat Pack Earns Two TAWA Awards
The 2026 Dodge Charger Scat Pack, reported by Stellantis, wins two TAWA awards for performance and interior, highlighting its new Hurricane engine and design.
The 2026 Dodge Charger Scat Pack has secured two major titles at the Texas Auto Roundup — Performance Vehicle of Texas and Best Interior — marking a significant milestone for a model that replaces the era of HEMI V8 engines.
The Texas Auto Writers Association highlighted the Charger’s rare balance of power, character and everyday usability. Powered by the SIXPACK H.O. 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six, the car delivers 550 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque, accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and completes the quarter mile in 12.2 seconds. Available in both two- and four-door configurations with standard all-wheel drive, it expands beyond the traditional muscle car formula.
This recognition comes at a pivotal moment for the model. Previous Scat Pack versions relied on a naturally aspirated 6.4-liter HEMI V8 producing 485 horsepower, while the new Hurricane engine not only surpasses that output but also reflects Stellantis’ broader shift toward a multi-energy strategy. The Charger lineup now includes both internal combustion and fully electric Daytona variants built on a shared platform.
The interior, which earned its own award, combines design cues inspired by the 1968 Charger with modern digital features. A wide-format instrument display, a 12.3-inch central screen and a 64-color ambient lighting system define the cabin. The liftback-style “hidden hatch” design improves practicality, offering up to 37.4 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded — a notable departure from traditional muscle car layouts.
The broader context reinforces the significance of these awards. The new Charger generation has already received multiple industry recognitions, including North American Car of the Year and honors from TopGear and MotorWeek. Independent testing further shows that the new model outperforms its V8 predecessors in straight-line acceleration, while introducing trade-offs in handling and braking typical of a heavier platform.
Orders for the 2026 Charger Scat Pack are already open, with pricing starting at approximately $56,990 for the two-door version and $56,995 for the four-door model. Deliveries are scheduled across 2025 and early 2026, positioning the new Charger as a key product in Dodge’s transition into a new performance era.
