2026 Toyota Sequoia combines upscale comfort with hybrid performance
Toyota upgrades the 2026 Sequoia with leather-trimmed interiors, new TRD Pro color, massaging seats, and i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain. Explore full details.
The 2026 Toyota Sequoia arrives with a refined combination of comfort, hybrid power, and serious off-road capability. The new model sees several interior upgrades, updated materials, and retains the potent i-FORCE MAX hybrid engine.
At the top of the range, the Capstone trim features a new Shale Premium Textured leather interior, enhancing the upscale feel of the cabin. The Limited model also receives leather-trimmed seating with contrasting stitching: white on black and black on grey. Power-folding third-row seats are now standard across all trims.
A new exclusive color, Wave Maker, debuts for the TRD Pro trim, targeting drivers who value both bold design and off-road prowess.
Comfort takes center stage inside, especially in Capstone, Platinum, and 1794 Edition trims, where front passengers can enjoy massage seats with 10-way adjustability. The system allows users to fine-tune massage intensity and zones via the 14-inch multimedia touchscreen.
Under the hood, the hybrid i-FORCE MAX delivers 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque, enabling the Sequoia to tow up to 9,520 pounds. EPA fuel economy figures stand at 20–22 mpg combined, depending on drivetrain configuration.
The TRD Pro and trims equipped with the TRD Off-Road package come ready for trail duty. Standard features include Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, an electronically locking rear differential, and a surround-view camera system. FOX shocks further boost TRD Pro's appeal for off-road enthusiasts.
Safety is bolstered by Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, which includes pre-collision braking, lane keeping, intersection assist, and adaptive cruise control. Blind Spot Monitor, automatic parking braking, and a rear seat reminder system are also standard.
Technology is robust, with Toyota’s latest multimedia interface supporting voice commands via “Hey Toyota,” wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and OTA software updates. Navigation and points of interest are cloud-connected, with update options via Wi-Fi or USB.
In the U.S., the 2026 Sequoia starts around $64,000 for SR5 and reaches up to $84,000 for Capstone. In Europe, the model is available via import only, starting from approximately €115,000, with no localized configurations for Germany.
Initial deliveries in the U.S. are expected by Q3 2025, with some dealerships already accepting orders. With a blend of strength, tech, and trusted Toyota reliability, the Sequoia enters a fiercely competitive segment—and may have just enough to tip the balance in its favor.
