Citroën reported that the C3 Aircross won Best Users’ Car of Europe 2026 at AUTOBEST Conquest, where public voting and jury scores shaped the final result.

Citroën C3 Aircross has been named “Best Users’ Car of Europe 2026”, with a result that stands out for a key reason: for the first time in the award’s history, half of the final score came directly from public voting.

The vote took place across Europe from January to March 2026 and carried equal weight to the jury’s decision. This 50/50 system marks a major shift introduced with the new AUTOBEST Conquest format. Since its launch in 2001, AUTOBEST has focused on identifying cars that deliver the best balance between price and value for everyday users. Its jury includes 32 automotive journalists from 32 countries, evaluating vehicles across 13 criteria such as affordability, service network, technology, and versatility.

Within this framework, the C3 Aircross outperformed five other finalists: BYD Dolphin Surf, Fiat Grande Panda, Ford Puma Gen-E, MG S5 EV and Renault 4. The shortlist itself reflects a broader market transition, with a growing presence of electric and hybrid models.

The model’s concept plays a central role in its recognition. At 4.39 metres long, the compact SUV offers up to seven seats — an uncommon feature in its segment — while maintaining a city-friendly size. The focus remains on usability: generous interior space, flexible layout, and a strong emphasis on comfort through Citroën’s suspension and seating solutions. The vehicle also includes modern driver assistance systems and a 10.25-inch infotainment display.

The powertrain lineup covers multiple needs, from a petrol engine to a hybrid system producing around 136–145 hp with 48V support, as well as a fully electric version offering a range of up to 300–400 km. Fast charging enables a 20–80% recharge in approximately 26 minutes. This range of options aligns with a strategy built on accessibility and versatility.

Market response supports this positioning. In the Czech Republic, more than 500 units were sold shortly after launch, with the petrol version accounting for the majority of demand. The model also proved highly popular during test drives and roadshow events.

At the same time, the award itself is evolving. The 2026 AUTOBEST Conquest introduced multiple categories, including design, technology and user-focused recognition. In this context, the C3 Aircross win highlights not only expert evaluation but also direct consumer preference across Europe.
