Mercedes-AMG has unveiled its latest concept car, the CONCEPT AMG GT TRACK SPORT, marking a bold new chapter in the brand’s performance history. Announced on July 25, 2025, in Affalterbach – the home of AMG – this high-performance project aims to push the limits of track dynamics and set new lap records.
The second generation of the AMG GT debuted in 2023, and since then, the sports car family has steadily grown. The new concept signals that the story of the GT lineup is far from over. Powered by a proven V8 engine, the CONCEPT AMG GT TRACK SPORT is engineered with uncompromising focus on track performance. While official specifications remain undisclosed, experts suggest it may surpass the output of the AMG GT Black Series and challenge the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and GT2 RS on the Nürburgring.
Teaser images reveal aggressive aerodynamic upgrades: a massive front splitter, a large swan-neck rear wing, multiple air vents, and widened wheel arches. The concept rides on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, further emphasizing its racing ambitions.
Currently in final development at Mercedes-AMG’s Affalterbach facility, the prototype is expected to undergo extensive track testing. According to German and UK sources, its public debut could take place at the IAA Mobility show in September 2025, with Nürburgring lap record attempts potentially following in 2026.
Within the company, the project is seen as a potential expansion of the AMG GT family. Insiders speculate that it might lay the groundwork for a next-generation GT3 coupe, possibly debuting in 2027. For now, Mercedes-AMG keeps enthusiasts guessing, hinting at the next evolution of its performance DNA.
