Progress is evident, yet the rugged, roaring spirit that once defined the Hummer has faded, replaced by digital prowess and quiet acceleration.

Efficiency remains far from ideal: a massive 212 kWh battery provides only a modest range advantage over smaller rivals. The removable roof offers open-air freedom but introduces wind noise at highway speeds. And with its imposing size and six-figure price, the Hummer EV feels more like a specialty toy for enthusiasts than a mainstream SUV.

Still, the Hummer EV is a bold statement – GM’s moonshot. The Next Chapter – 2026 GMC HUMMER EV

GMC has unveiled the updated 2026 HUMMER EV, making the supertruck faster and smarter than ever. In the limited Carbon Fiber Edition, the pickup sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, making it the quickest HUMMER to date. A new King Crab mode enhances rear-wheel steering for superior off-road manoeuvrability, and this feature will also be available to 2022–2025 HUMMER EV owners via a software update.

The 2026 model introduces bidirectional charging, allowing the HUMMER EV to power other EVs or even supply electricity to a home during outages. The Super Cruise system has been upgraded with Google Maps integration, and refined suspension tuning improves ride comfort. The Carbon Fiber Edition stands out with its exclusive Magnus Gray matte finish, Velocity Ember interior, and new 56-centimetre (22-inch) carbon fibre wheels.
