Polestar 4 earns top Red Dot 2025 award for product design

Polestar 4 receives the prestigious Red Dot ‘Best of the Best’ 2025 award in product design, praised for its unique style, innovation, and refined details.

On August 6, 2025, Polestar once again proved its ability to surprise with a bold design philosophy. The Polestar 4 has received the prestigious Red Dot “Best of the Best” award in the Product Design category, cementing its position as one of the most striking examples of contemporary automotive style. The decision by an international jury of 43 experts from 21 countries recognized the Swedish brand’s talent for combining technical complexity with visual simplicity and clarity.

The Red Dot Award is one of the world’s largest design competitions, attracting entries from over 60 countries. In 2025, the awards ceremony took place on July 8 at the Alvar Aalto Theatre in Essen, with winners later showcased in exhibitions at the Red Dot Design Museum. For the Polestar 4, this marked its first “Best of the Best,” though the brand has been honored before, including for the Polestar 2 and as “Brand of the Year.” This year, the Polestar 3 and Kia EV3 also stood out among the automotive winners.

The jury highlighted the Polestar 4’s lack of a rear window — a design choice that transforms spatial perception and aerodynamics, complemented by a panoramic roof and an HD camera system. Frameless mirrors, Dual Blade headlights, and ambient lighting inspired by the solar system further enhance the impression, balancing the sporty aesthetics of a coupé with the practicality of an SUV. According to Philipp Römers, Polestar’s Global Head of Design, the award is a testament to the dedication and passion of the team working on every detail.

Winning the Red Dot not only strengthens Polestar’s standing in the premium EV segment but also underlines that the brand continues to set new standards in automotive design. With the upcoming launches of the Polestar 5, 6, and 7, along with planned production expansion, it is likely that the company will maintain its course of blending advanced technology, striking aesthetics, and sustainable development.
