Porsche Unveils New 911 Cup (992.2) for 2026 One-Make Series with Enhanced Features

Porsche introduces the 911 Cup (992.2) for the 2026 season, featuring a 520-hp engine, improved aerodynamics, and the use of sustainable eFuel. A major step for eco-friendly motorsport.
Porsche has unveiled the new 911 Cup, an updated version of its one-make racing car, which will take to the track starting in the 2026 season. Based on the 992.2 generation of the 911, this model represents an evolution of its highly successful predecessor and incorporates numerous upgrades focused on enhancing performance while simplifying operation for drivers and teams.
The standout update is the engine, which now delivers 520 hp (382 kW), a 10-hp increase over the previous model. A major focus during development was improving aerodynamics and handling, allowing for enhanced dynamics at high speeds and a more responsive car in corners. The new rear wing features an updated mechanism for adjusting the angle of attack, while the redesigned front bumper and improved aerodynamics, including louvre vents in the fenders, contribute significantly to the car’s performance and handling.
Equally important is the use of recycled materials, such as carbon fiber fleece combined with bio-based epoxy resin. This approach not only lowers the cost of spare parts but also aligns Porsche with the growing demand for sustainable production practices. This material innovation is a key factor in stabilizing spare parts pricing and overall economic efficiency of the vehicle.
The new 911 Cup also boasts improvements in ease of use during races. The car is equipped with an upgraded management system that simplifies the adjustment and monitoring of key parameters during a race. Additionally, the braking system, safety features, and electronic functions have all been enhanced, making the car more reliable and effective on the track.
Furthermore, it's important to note that Porsche is introducing the use of eFuel in the new 911 Cup, set to debut in 2026, including in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. This synthetic fuel significantly reduces CO₂ emissions, underlining the brand's commitment to sustainable racing.
Since the beginning of production of the current generation Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in late 2020, 1,130 units have been built, and the total number of Porsche racing cars produced for one-make series has reached 5,381. This success highlights the ongoing demand for the 911 Cup, which continues to dominate various championships and racing series around the world.
