Vauxhall's ranking of UK family attractions highlights EV charging access and range, with LEGOLAND Windsor leading thanks to 34 on-site chargers and nearby rapid points.

Leading British carmaker Vauxhall has unveiled its list of the UK’s top eight family attractions for electric vehicle owners. Compiled using data from Visit Britain and Zapmap, the ranking assessed the availability of charging stations on-site and nearby, as well as accessibility from the country’s largest cities within 325 miles — the maximum range of the new Vauxhall Grandland Electric on a single charge.

Topping the list is LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort, offering 34 on-site charging stations installed in partnership with RAW Charging, with additional facilities located close by. Extended figures show 38 charging zones, including hotel parking and staff spaces. Visitors need their own cable and a priority parking ticket to use the chargers. This level of infrastructure makes the park particularly attractive for family EV trips.

In second place is Chester Zoo in Cheshire, with 26 charging outlets of up to 7 kW on its car park, operated by Pod Point. The zoo can be reached from all 15 of the UK’s most populous cities on a single charge and offers free parking, charging only for the electricity used. Covering 128 acres and home to over 37,000 animals, it’s an ideal spot for a full day outdoors.

Third place goes to Madame Tussauds London. While there are no charging stations on-site, hundreds of fast and rapid points can be found within a one-mile radius, including major Q-Park facilities. This makes it a strong option for families with older children who prefer urban sightseeing and cultural experiences.

Also in the top four are the London Eye and Shrek’s Adventure! London, while fifth place goes to Royal Edinburgh. Although no specific EV infrastructure details for the site were found, Edinburgh boasts over 60 charging stations, including 43 rapid chargers. Sixth and seventh positions go to Cadbury World and Dudley Zoo. Cadbury World has no on-site charging and advises visitors to use the nearest public points.

The ranking launch coincides with a joint promotion by Vauxhall and LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort. One family will win park entry, hotel accommodation, fast track wristbands, free parking and charging, plus a week-long loan of a Grandland Electric. The competition runs until the end of August, with the winner to be announced in early September.

Vauxhall highlights that its entire model line-up is now fully electrified, and its Electric Streets of Britain initiative continues to expand the network of accessible charging points. With the UK’s EV numbers on the rise, such efforts are expected to play an increasingly important role in planning family journeys.
