New Porsche 911 to Debut in Driving Film on April 14
Porsche confirms a digital premiere of a new 911 on April 14, presented in a driving film with first tests on Tenerife roads. Watch the full reveal online.
The world premiere of a new Porsche 911 is set for April 14, 2026 — and instead of a traditional reveal, the brand is turning it into a full-scale driving film featuring automotive experts encountering the car for the first time without prior knowledge.
The new 911 will be shown in action on the mountainous roads of Tenerife, a setting defined by steep elevation changes and demanding terrain. The presentation will be streamed at 4:00 p.m. CEST via the Porsche Newsroom and the brand’s official YouTube channel, with the recording available on demand afterward.
This format signals a shift in focus — away from static presentation toward real-world driving performance. That approach reflects the broader evolution of the 911 range, which has recently undergone significant technical updates, including revised engines, improved aerodynamics, enhanced digital interfaces, and expanded connectivity features.
A key development is the introduction of the T-Hybrid performance system. Already used in models such as the Carrera GTS and Turbo S, it combines a new boxer engine with an electric turbocharger, an integrated electric motor within the transmission, and a compact high-voltage battery. This setup improves responsiveness and torque delivery at low engine speeds without significantly increasing weight.
At the same time, the core structure of the 911 remains intact. The updated Carrera uses a revised 3.0-litre twin-turbo boxer engine producing 394 PS, while higher-performance versions like the Carrera S reach 480 PS. The lineup also includes all-wheel-drive variants, Cabriolet and Targa body styles, with the number of AWD versions expanded to six.
The ongoing evolution of the 911 follows a long-established pattern. Since its debut in 1963, the model has been refined through continuous updates while retaining its fundamental design and identity. The introduction of hybrid technology marks one of the most notable recent steps in that progression.
The specific version to be unveiled on April 14 has not been disclosed. However, given the confirmed direction of the current lineup, the premiere is likely to highlight a model that represents this new technological phase — which explains the decision to present it through a real driving scenario rather than a studio reveal.
