Aston Martin and Glenfiddich announce a global luxury partnership at Monterey Car Week, debuting a rare 1976 Single Malt Scotch Whisky limited to 50 bottles.

British and Scottish icons Aston Martin and Glenfiddich unveiled a major new partnership on August 14 at Monterey Car Week in California. Building on Glenfiddich’s existing relationship with the Aston Martin Formula One™ Team, the collaboration now extends across the entire Aston Martin brand.

At its core, the alliance is driven by shared values of craftsmanship, innovation, and respect for heritage. To mark the launch, Glenfiddich has released a limited-edition 1976 Single Malt, matured for 48 years and finished in a specially coopered European oak sherry cask. Selected by Malt Master Brian Kinsman, this rare release is limited to just 50 bottles, available exclusively through The Distillers Library and at the Glenfiddich Distillery.

The choice of 1976 is deliberate: the mid-1970s marked a transformative era for both brands. Glenfiddich introduced its signature stag’s head to bottles and built a new still house, while Aston Martin was pioneering bold engineering and design innovations that shaped its future models for decades.

The whisky offers an aromatic profile of sweet red berries, buttery pastry, soft spice, and a hint of sherbet. On the palate, dry oak tannins, stewed fruits, and toasted wood emerge, leading to a long finish of sweet oak spice.

The partnership debuted at “The House of Aston Martin” during Monterey Car Week, where guests were invited to sample the release at a curated tasting experience. Taking centre stage alongside the whisky was the Valhalla — Aston Martin’s first plug-in hybrid supercar, embodying rarity, precision, and a forward-looking vision that resonates with Glenfiddich’s ethos.

Both companies emphasise their commitment not only to excellence but also to responsible enjoyment, reminding consumers never to drink and drive. Early reactions from the press and enthusiasts suggest the alliance is a natural and promising step, paving the way for future exclusive releases.
