Polestar 3 Achieves 935 km on Single Charge, Breaking Record

Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor drives 935.44 km on UK roads on one charge, setting a Guinness World Record for electric SUV range.
The Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor has set a new official Guinness World Record by covering 935.44 kilometres on UK roads with a single charge. The achievement came after nearly 23 hours of continuous driving in variable weather conditions, including rain. The average energy consumption was recorded at 12.1 kWh per 100 kilometres, a figure that stands out for a large electric SUV.
Behind the wheel, three seasoned drivers took turns: Sam Clarke, Kevin Booker, and Richard Parker. All of them had previously been involved in record-breaking efficiency runs with electric vehicles. Driver changes were made every three hours to maintain focus throughout the challenge.
The Polestar 3 exceeded its official WLTP range of 706 kilometres, finishing the run with about 20% battery charge remaining. Remarkably, the team managed to drive an additional 13 kilometres after the dashboard showed zero percent, reaching a charging point without coming to a stop on the road.
The test was conducted using an unmodified production model, fitted with 20-inch wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 EV tyres. The entire process was monitored by Guinness officials, with GPS data, video recordings, odometer readings, and battery measurements confirming the validity of the record.
This new mark surpasses last year’s result of 916.72 kilometres set by a Ford Mustang Mach-E, establishing a fresh benchmark for electric SUVs. Polestar representatives noted that the record not only demonstrates the brand’s technological progress but also challenges the long-standing perception that electric vehicles have limited range.
In the context of the company’s ambitious goal to achieve climate neutrality by 2040, this result serves as a strong confirmation of its strategic direction. The improved energy efficiency seen in such trials could play a significant role in the further development of EV technology and in shaping public perception of electric mobility.
