Skoda Auto has officially begun mass production of the updated Enyaq electric vehicle family at its Mladá Boleslav plant in the Czech Republic. This milestone solidifies Skoda’s growing presence in the EV market. The latest Enyaq generation introduces Modern Solid design, enhanced aerodynamics, and upgraded digital features, while preserving the core strengths of its predecessor.

The Mladá Boleslav factory is the first in Europe to produce both electric and combustion-engine vehicles on the same assembly line. This unique capability allows Skoda to swiftly adjust production output based on market demand. The plant can produce up to 300 Enyaq units daily, alongside the Skoda Octavia and the new Elroq electric SUV.

Additionally, the facility manufactures battery systems for MEB-based vehicles, supplying not only Skoda models but also other Volkswagen Group brands.

The new Enyaq lineup offers two battery options and three drivetrain configurations:

  • Enyaq 60 and Enyaq 85 – Rear-wheel drive, single electric motor.
  • Enyaq 85x – All-wheel drive, dual-motor setup.

Power output ranges from 204 to 286 hp (150–210 kW), with a maximum range of up to 365 miles (WLTP cycle).

Aerodynamics have been fine-tuned to improve efficiency. Thanks to redesigned wheels, a sealed front grille, and optimized air curtains, the drag coefficient is reduced to 0.245 for the standard Enyaq and 0.229 for the Coupé version.

The updated Enyaq boasts a wealth of standard features, including:

  • Heated front seats and steering wheel.
  • KESSY Advanced keyless entry with auto-locking/unlocking.
  • Three-zone climate control.
  • Predictive Adaptive Cruise Control (pACC).
  • Safety assists such as Side Assist and Traffic Jam Assist.
  • New Remote Park Assist and Remote Trained Parking functions.

The interior is available in six design selections, all featuring sustainable and durable materials.

The UK market will open orders for the Enyaq on March 6, 2025, with prices starting at £39,000 for the SE L 60 SUV, while the top-end Enyaq SportLine 85x Coupé will cost £50,650. In Australia, the model is expected to launch in October 2025, with a starting price of $69,990 (excluding taxes and fees).

The Skoda Enyaq faces strong competitors, including Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Volkswagen ID.4. Compared to its rivals, the Enyaq offers a spacious interior, a comfortable ride, and a long driving range. However, Tesla provides access to its exclusive Supercharger network, while Hyundai boasts ultra-fast charging and a futuristic design.

The expansion of Enyaq production underscores Skoda’s commitment to electric mobility. By integrating flexible manufacturing processes, the company is well-positioned to adapt to the ever-evolving EV landscape.
