Volkswagen presents new electric SUV, T-Roc, ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE and GTI Edition 50 at IAA 2025 in Munich, highlighting mobility, innovation and accessibility.

Volkswagen is preparing a major appearance at IAA MOBILITY 2025 in Munich. From September 9 to 14, the company will showcase its latest models at the city center’s Open Space, a free-access venue designed to emphasize openness and direct dialogue with visitors.

The highlight will be the world premiere of a fully electric compact SUV from the ID. family. Positioned as an affordable electric vehicle in the “T-Cross class,” it marks an important step in the brand’s Electric Urban Car Family strategy. While official specifications have not yet been disclosed, industry outlets report possible battery options of 38 and 58 kWh with a range of up to 450 km—figures that remain speculative for now.

Another key debut will be the new generation T-Roc. According to automotive media, the crossover adopts styling cues seen in Volkswagen’s recent models, such as light bars and a more expressive profile. The exact engine lineup, however, has not been officially confirmed.

The ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE will also be on display, a limited edition created in collaboration with performance sportswear brand BOGNER FIRE+ICE. The model draws inspiration from the cult Golf II Fire and Ice of the early 1990s, adding an emotional layer to the presentation.

Celebrating half a century of GTI heritage, Volkswagen will bring the Golf GTI EDITION 50. With 239 kW (325 PS), it is the most powerful production GTI ever built. The car has already made headlines by setting a lap record at the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife. Production is scheduled to begin in Wolfsburg by the end of 2025, with deliveries starting in the first quarter of 2026.

Beyond the cars, the brand emphasizes sustainability and innovation. The Future Materials Lab will provide insights into Volkswagen’s research on recycling and alternative resources. While the full list of exhibits for 2025 has not been published, past showcases suggest a focus on circular economy solutions and bio-based materials.

Accessibility is central to the concept: tactile maps, Braille signage, ramps, lifts, and sign language support will make the Open Space inclusive for all visitors.

The cultural program promises variety, though complete lineups of artists and speakers have not yet been confirmed in the official schedule. The IAA organizers are expected to publish details closer to the event.

Independent reviews of the new models are not yet available, with media coverage focusing on previews and expectations. What is clear, however, is the strong interest in Volkswagen’s premieres, especially the anniversary GTI. This September, Munich will become the stage where the brand demonstrates its vision of accessible and emotionally engaging mobility for the future.
