Zeekr 9X unveiled at Chengdu Motor Show 2025 with 1400 hp hybrid power

Zeekr introduced the 9X at Chengdu Motor Show 2025. The hybrid SUV delivers 1400 hp, 3.1s acceleration, 1200 km range, and advanced luxury features.
The debut of the Zeekr 9X at the Chengdu Motor Show 2025 marked a bold statement from China’s automotive industry. This plug-in hybrid SUV doesn’t just aim to compete — it challenges some of the most established names in the premium segment.
At the heart of the 9X is a hybrid system that blends a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with three electric motors, delivering a staggering 1,400 horsepower. Even the entry-level version produces 900 hp, ensuring supercar-level performance. The full-size SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds, with a top speed of 240 km/h.
The powertrain is matched by an advanced energy system. Buyers can choose between two battery packs — 55 or 70 kWh — both supported by ultra-fast charging. A 10–80% charge takes only nine minutes, and combined range stretches up to 1,200 kilometers. On electric power alone, the SUV can cover up to 300 kilometers under official ratings.
Design emphasizes presence and luxury: over five meters in length, more than two meters wide, and a wheelbase surpassing three meters. Inside, the cabin is laid out in a 2+2+2 configuration. The second-row “floating” seats swivel 180 degrees and feature leg rests, while the third row includes reclining and sliding adjustments — a rare touch in this class. A panoramic roof measuring 1.3 m² and a suite of OLED displays complete the high-tech environment.
Technology is a defining feature of the Zeekr 9X. The G-Pilot H9 system integrates 43 sensors, including LiDAR and high-definition cameras, delivering Level 3 autonomous driving. Two Nvidia Thor chips provide the processing power. Combined with adaptive air suspension and active roll control, the SUV promises both stability and comfort at speed.
Pricing in China starts at $79,000 for the flagship version, while the entry-level Max is offered at $67,000. Interest has been immense: more than 42,000 pre-orders were registered within the first hour of launch.
The unveiling of the Zeekr 9X at Chengdu Motor Show 2025 highlights a turning point. Chinese manufacturers are no longer content with catching up; they are setting benchmarks in performance, luxury, and technology. The remaining question is whether long-term reliability can match the ambition.
