Chery Exeed ET5, unveiled at Chengdu Motor Show 2025, combines hybrid power and digital interior in a midsize SUV ahead of its November launch.

In 2026, Chery Exeed is preparing to launch one of its most ambitious projects — the ET5 crossover, formerly known as the Exlantix E05. The model made its global debut at the Chengdu Motor Show 2025, and its official sales launch is scheduled for November. From the details revealed so far, it is clear that this SUV will play a central role in the brand’s strategy.

On the outside, the car presents a modern and confident look. It measures 4,780 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,725 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm. The front fascia adopts rounded shapes with a closed grille and a distinctive lighting setup where the daytime running lights form three sharp lines. At the rear, a continuous smoked light strip adds a sporty impression. Buyers can expect multiple wheel options ranging from 18 to 20 inches.

The interior is where Exeed aims to stand out. The cabin features three digital screens, including a dedicated passenger entertainment display, along with a floating center console housing climate controls and a wireless charging pad. Comfort innovations include a Nap Mode for the front seats and a full sleeping arrangement option, while ambient lighting and minimalistic touches like a two-spoke steering wheel and digital clock complete the design.

Under the hood, the SUV combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine rated at 156 hp with an electric motor. The setup supports hybrid driving flexibility, and the pure electric range reaches 165 kilometers. On the technology side, the Horizon SuperDrive package powered by the Journey 6P chip provides a Level 2 city-assisted driving system. This includes up to 12 radars, high-resolution cameras, and even an optional roof-mounted lidar for precise environmental sensing.

Altogether, the Exeed ET5/Exlantix E05 positions itself as a strong contender in the mid-size electric SUV market. Its mix of spacious comfort, digital sophistication, and hybrid practicality could appeal to buyers well beyond China. The only remaining question is whether Exeed can hold its ground against established competitors — from Tesla to the European brands strengthening their presence. The market will deliver its verdict once sales begin in November.
