Mercedes-Benz unveils electric C-Class interior design
Mercedes-Benz reveals the interior of its electric C-Class, focusing on space, digital systems and comfort. Explore details ahead of the official premiere.
The new electric C-Class reveals itself through its interior first — and that choice sets the tone for the entire model. Mercedes-Benz shifts focus away from raw numbers, emphasizing space, silence and personalization, turning the cabin into a private retreat.
The interior is noticeably more spacious, a direct result of the electric architecture and reworked layout. Without a traditional combustion engine, proportions change and free up more room, while the panoramic roof enhances the sense of openness. Everything inside is built around the driver, with shapes, displays and controls forming a unified environment where digital and physical elements operate as one.
A central role is given to the new digital system. The MBUX Hyperscreen or Superscreen integrates multiple displays into a single surface, offering a personalized interface with adaptive logic and high pixel density. The front passenger receives dedicated content, while the system minimizes the need to navigate through menus. This reflects Mercedes-Benz’s broader approach to reducing friction in user interaction.
Materials and craftsmanship form another key layer. The interior features Nappa leather, the new Softtorino finish, and trim elements in wood, metal and carbon. At the same time, a fully vegan interior certified by The Vegan Society becomes available, covering all major soft-touch surfaces from seats to headliner and carpeting, aligning with the brand’s wider material strategy.
Comfort is further enhanced by new seats with expanded ergonomics: electropneumatic lumbar support, full-back massage, ventilation and integration with 4D sound. These features work together with the ENERGIZING COMFORT system, which synchronizes lighting, sound, climate and subtle seat movements, turning each journey into a controlled sensory experience.
Engineers have also focused on climate and acoustics. A new multi-source heat pump uses several energy inputs to warm the cabin faster while reducing consumption. Acoustic comfort comes from layered insulation, specialized suspension mounts and laminated glass. The result is a significantly quieter interior — a crucial factor in an electric vehicle where engine noise is absent.
This direction explains the emphasis on the interior. The electric C-Class enters a segment already defined by models such as the Tesla Model 3 and BMW i4, yet Mercedes-Benz positions it through comfort, materials and digital integration. The model will be sold alongside the combustion-powered C-Class, expanding the brand’s presence in the mid-size premium segment.
Full technical specifications — including range, battery and power — will be revealed later. For now, the new electric C-Class is clearly built around space, silence and digital control rather than traditional performance metrics.
