Curvistan Bangkok opens Raceborn exhibition featuring Porsche 956 LH chassis 002, the Le Mans 1982 winner by Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell. Free entry until October 2025.

Curvistan Bangkok is celebrating its first anniversary with a showcase that will thrill motorsport fans. At its creative space on Sukhumvit 38, just steps from BTS Thong Lo station, the new exhibition "Raceborn" has opened. Its centerpiece is the legendary Porsche 956 LH, chassis no. 002 – the very car driven by Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell to victory at the 1982 24 Hours of Le Mans, ushering in the Group C era.

The 956 LH (Langheck, “long tail”) was designed for circuits with long straights like Le Mans. Its aerodynamic bodywork reduced drag for top speed, while a lightweight 840-kg chassis and a 620-PS twin-turbo flat-six engine helped meet the strict fuel consumption limits of the new regulations. The project was led by Norbert Singer, one of the most influential engineers in Porsche’s racing history.

The exhibition goes beyond a single car: visitors can also see a 911 GT3 R from the FIA WEC, a 911 GT3 with Manthey Racing upgrades, and a 911 Carrera (992.2) wearing a livery inspired by the 956 LH. Before being installed in the gallery, the Curvistan team photographed the 956 LH around Bangkok’s landmarks, creating striking contrasts between the city’s atmosphere and Weissach engineering.

Raceborn is open daily from 08:00 to 22:00 with free admission. The display runs until at least early October, with some reports indicating it will continue through mid-November. Organizers suggest following Curvistan’s social media for program updates.
