Mercedes-Benz VanSolution expansion adds partners and industries
Mercedes-Benz reports expansion of its VanSolution program with more partners, industries, and European markets. Explore how customized van solutions are evolving.
Mercedes-Benz is scaling up one of the core pillars of its commercial vehicle business: the VanSolution program, which underpins a large share of specialized vans, is now being expanded with more partners, broader geographic reach, and additional industries.
The company notes that around three out of four Sprinter vans worldwide are already modified for specific use cases — from mobile workshops to ambulances and delivery vehicles. This segment is now at the center of a major update marking the program’s 20th anniversary.
The most visible change is the expansion to 33 VanSolution partners across Europe. At the same time, the broader VanPartner network, which includes more than 300 certified bodybuilders, remains in place. The distinction lies in integration: VanSolution partners work more closely with Mercedes-Benz and are involved in developing and scaling solutions.
The update also extends the range of industries covered. In addition to established sectors such as construction, trade, and logistics, the program now formally includes municipal services, emergency vehicles, and passenger transport. This reflects an already wide portfolio of solutions — from tipper trucks and box bodies to refrigerated vans and specialized people movers.
Geographically, the program is moving beyond its traditional focus on Germany and Austria. It is being rolled out across additional European markets, including France, Italy, Spain, the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Turkey. This expansion aims to make industry-specific solutions more consistently available across regions.
Mercedes-Benz is also introducing a more flexible purchasing structure. Customers can choose between a single-invoice model, where the vehicle and conversion are bundled, or a two-invoice model, where they are handled separately. At the same time, the company continues to emphasize the “one-stop” approach, allowing ready-to-use vehicles to be ordered directly through dealerships.
In parallel, the digital infrastructure is being reworked. Solutions that were previously hosted on the Conversion World platform are now being integrated into the main Mercedes-Benz Vans website. The rollout begins in Germany and will extend across Europe במהלך the year, providing easier access to a centralized catalog of configurations and partner offerings.
The core idea of VanSolution remains unchanged: not just delivering a base vehicle, but a fully configured working tool tailored to specific industries. Over time, this has evolved into a broad ecosystem of bodybuilders and applications spanning logistics, construction, passenger transport, and specialized services.
The latest expansion signals a continued strategic focus on this segment. By strengthening partnerships, improving digital access, and standardizing offerings across Europe, Mercedes-Benz is reinforcing its position in the market for customized commercial vehicles — where standard vans increasingly serve as a starting point rather than a finished product.
