Porsche Club of America Celebrates 70th Anniversary and Exclusive Club Coupé

Porsche Club of America turns 70 with a week-long Parade in Oklahoma City and the debut of the 911 Carrera T Club Coupé in Sholar Blue, designed by Grant Larson.
In 2025, the Porsche Club of America celebrates its 70th anniversary — seven decades of friendship, shared drives, and loyalty to the marque. The club’s story began in 1955 when Washington, D.C. commercial artist Bill Sholar, who had just bought a Porsche 356 Coupé, started flashing his headlights at fellow drivers. This simple gesture led to the first PCA meeting on September 13, 1955. Just a year later, the very first Porsche Parade was held in Gaithersburg, drawing 64 members and setting the stage for an annual tradition.
Since then, PCA has grown into the largest Porsche club in the world, with more than 145,000 members and over 145 regions across North America. Its events — from technical sessions to autocrosses and parades — have become a defining part of Porsche enthusiast culture.
The highlight of the anniversary year was the 69th Porsche Parade, held in Oklahoma City from July 6 to 12. The week featured a concours d’elegance, TSD rallies, autocross, technical quizzes, art shows, and even morning runs. The festive atmosphere embodied the club’s motto: “It’s not just the cars; it’s the people.”
A major draw was the premiere of the limited 911 Carrera T Club Coupé, created jointly by PCA, Porsche Sonderwunsch, and Style Porsche. Only 70 cars will be produced exclusively for PCA members in the U.S. and Canada. The model is painted in Sholar Blue — a modern metallic reinterpretation of Club Blau, first introduced for PCA’s 60th anniversary. Designed by Grant Larson, known for the Boxster and Carrera GT, the car features unique exterior accents in Guards Red and a bespoke interior with illuminated sill plates and contrast stitching.
The Parade also offered a moment of tradition and emotion: Hans-Peter Porsche, son of Ferry Porsche, attended his 33rd Parade, accompanied by his son Daniell and grandson Tamino. Their presence highlighted the strong bond between the Porsche family and the PCA community.
As PCA steps into its eighth decade, it remains committed to its roots. Youth programs, club racing, technical workshops, and charitable initiatives continue to expand. While the cars may evolve, the spirit of PCA — friendship, passion, and shared experience — remains timeless.
