Skoda Elroq RS Launches in Exclusive 800-Unit Matt Grey Finish

Skoda introduces the Elroq RS Matt Grey edition, limited to 800 units, with dual motors, 550 km range, and unique care instructions for the matte finish.
Skoda has unveiled the Elroq RS in an exclusive limited run of just 800 units, featuring a striking new Matt Grey finish. This is more than a simple color update — it represents the outcome of an intensive development effort, where specialists tested multiple variants, ran simulations, and fine-tuned the process to meet the brand’s high quality standards.
The matte effect is created by a clear topcoat infused with a matting agent containing silica nanoparticles. These particles scatter incoming light, producing a deep, uniform matte appearance. The Elroq RS is painted on the same line in Mlada Boleslav as the regular versions, but now each body can be coated in either gloss or matte finish, offering new flexibility.
To protect the finish during transport, Skoda uses a full-body textile cover that wraps the SUV entirely, reducing the risk of mechanical damage. Owners will find detailed care instructions in the manual, warning against polishing, waxing, or applying films to the matte surface.
Performance remains uncompromised: the RS variant delivers 250 kW (340 hp) from dual motors, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds and reaching a top speed of 180 km/h. WLTP range is rated at up to 540–550 km, and the 84-kWh battery can charge from 10 to 80% in as little as 26 minutes.
Early reviews from Germany and the UK praise the adaptive DCC suspension, grip, and everyday usability, while some testers note slightly soft braking feel. Project Manager Veronika Straskrabova confirmed that Skoda aims to expand its palette of matte finishes in the future, and the company’s new paint shop under construction in Mlada Boleslav signals wider availability of matte colors for other models in the coming years.
