Ford Pro Unveils Complete Range of Electrified Specialty Vehicles in Karlsruhe

Ford Pro presented its entire electrified lineup at NUFAM 2025, highlighting the Ranger Plug-in Hybrid and E-Transit models with advanced customization options.
Ford Pro made a strong statement at the 2025 NUFAM trade fair in Karlsruhe, showcasing the full range of its electrified specialty vehicles. Visitors could explore everything from the compact E-Transit Courier with up to 300 km range and modular Sortimo storage system, to the powerful Ranger Plug-in Hybrid that stole the spotlight.
The Ranger PHEV – Europe’s first plug-in hybrid pickup – combines a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, a 75 kW electric motor, and an 11.8 kWh battery. It delivers an impressive 697 Nm of torque, ensuring strong off-road capability. Ford also displayed a special version built by EDAG Engineering for the Bavarian Mountain Rescue Service, tested on snow-covered alpine roads.
Other highlights included the Transit Connect Plug-in Hybrid, offering up to 119 km of electric range. The Grand Transit Connect PHEV with long wheelbase and FlexCab body was equipped with Bott’s load-securing system for safe tool transport. The E-Transit Custom now comes with two motor options and a 64 kWh battery for up to 327 km range and a best-in-class 2.3-ton towing capacity. For NUFAM, Ford Pro brought a refrigerated version demonstrating its potential for cold-chain logistics.
The flagship E-Transit received an 89 kWh battery upgrade, extending range to 402 km and enabling faster charging. One exhibit was converted into a refuse truck by Schutz GmbH. All new models now feature the Vehicle Integration System, which simplifies upfitter connections and allows control through the SYNC 4 touchscreen.
Ford’s electrification strategy remains ambitious, though adjusted after slower-than-expected EV demand growth in Europe. Hybrid models will stay in the lineup longer, but Ford Pro still aims for a strong share of electrified sales by 2030. Analysts note that for businesses, switching to electric vans remains attractive: a CEBR study shows small firms can save around €14,000 per van over three years of operation.
With subsidies declining and market growth cooling, the industry is watching how Ford Pro and rivals – Mercedes-Benz with its new eSprinter and Volkswagen with the ID. Buzz Cargo – will compete for fleet buyers. Still, NUFAM 2025 demonstrated robust interest in electric vans and pickups, with manufacturers ready to deliver increasingly flexible, specialized solutions for diverse customer needs.
