Bentley presents the first Flying Spur with Ombré by Mulliner, a hand-painted colour fade debuting at Southampton International Boat Show, priced at £48,000.

Bentley has unveiled the first four-door model to feature its exclusive “Ombré by Mulliner” paint finish, applying the striking colour-fade technique to the Flying Spur sedan. The process is carried out entirely by hand at the brand’s Dream Factory in Crewe and requires nearly 60 hours of work by two highly skilled paint technicians. The car’s Topaz Blue front gradually transitions into the deeper Windsor Blue at the rear, with the fade running across the doors, sills, and roof, maintaining perfect symmetry on both sides.

The Ombré technique is offered in three carefully curated colour pairings: Topaz Blue → Windsor Blue, Sunburst Gold → Orange Flame, and Tungsten → Onyx. Each pairing is selected to avoid creating a third unintended colour during the transition, and paint specialists adjust the spray process in real time to ensure a seamless finish.

The Flying Spur’s debut takes place at the Southampton International Boat Show, one of the UK’s largest marine events, running from 19 to 28 September at Mayflower Park. Bentley is using the event to showcase Mulliner’s growing personalisation capabilities, reflecting rising customer demand for bespoke solutions.

The first car to wear the Ombré finish was a Continental GT presented in August at The Quail during Monterey Car Week, where media praised the precision of the gradient and the craftsmanship involved. Bentley has confirmed that more colour combinations will follow, a move likely to appeal to collectors seeking rare and unique specifications. Priced at £48,000 / $68,000, Ombré stands as one of Bentley’s most complex and exclusive factory paint options to date.
