Jeep Compass Altitude launched in Europe after Tannistest 2025

Jeep Compass made its debut at the 2025 Tannistest in Denmark, with orders opening for the Altitude trim. Details include electrified powertrains and digital features.
Tannistest 2025 in Denmark once again confirmed its reputation as a decisive stage on the road to the European Car of the Year award. Since 1977, jury members have gathered in the northern town of Tannis to evaluate the most anticipated new models, narrowing the list of contenders in real-world conditions. This year, one of the central debuts was the all-new Jeep Compass, now entering its third generation.
The testing program ran from September 20 to 25, with journalists from 23 countries putting cars through their paces on city streets, highways, and even the runway at Sindal Airport. For Jeep, this marked a symbolic moment: the Compass was revealed to the public in a completely redesigned form with electrification at its core.
The new Compass is built on Stellantis’ STLA Medium platform, created specifically for electrified vehicles. It supports a wide range of powertrains, from the 145 hp 48V e-Hybrid — capable of completing half of urban trips in full-electric mode — to the fully electric version with 213 hp and a range of up to 500 km (WLTP). A larger 96 kWh battery option is also planned, promising up to 660 km of range.
Beyond powertrains, the Compass has grown roomier and more aerodynamic, achieving a drag coefficient of 0.29 thanks to its flat underbody and active grille shutters. Inside, drivers will find a 10.25-inch digital cluster and a 16-inch infotainment display. Safety has also been prioritized, with a comprehensive suite of assistance systems and standard Level 2 autonomous driving.
Digital features play a central role. The new Compass includes Connect ONE, valid for 10 years, and Connect PLUS, available for 6 to 12 months depending on the trim. These packages offer connected navigation, theft assistance, voice control, and more. The new Jeep 2.0 app allows drivers to check charging status, locate stations, and schedule sessions, while the Digital Key turns a smartphone into a secure and shareable key.
At the same time as its Danish debut, Jeep opened orders for the new Altitude trim. In Italy, prices start at €39,900, dropping to €37,900 with trade-in or scrappage incentives and Stellantis financing. In the UK, earlier pricing for the First Edition placed the e-Hybrid at £35,700 and the electric version at £39,200.
The competitive landscape is formidable. The 2026 Car of the Year candidates include the Audi A6 e-tron, Mercedes CLA, Kia EV4, and Citroën ë-C3 Aircross, among others. Within this field, the Compass will seek to convince jurors with a blend of traditional Jeep capability and advanced technology.
Early reviews highlight the improvements in aerodynamics and digital equipment, though questions remain about how the Compass will measure up against its rivals in the final rounds of evaluation. Results will be announced in early 2026, but for now the Compass strengthens Jeep’s position in Europe and signals its ambitions in the fully electric market.
