Skoda presented the Epiq show car, a compact electric SUV with 425 km range, 475-liter boot and price around €25,000, production planned for 2026.

Škoda is taking another decisive step toward accessible electric mobility. At the Volkswagen Group media workshop ahead of the IAA in Munich, the company unveiled the Epiq show car — a preview of a compact urban SUV set to enter production in 2026.

The key promise of Epiq is affordability. With an expected starting price of around €25,000 or $25,000 — on par with the current Kamiq with a combustion engine — it is designed to become Škoda’s most accessible electric vehicle. Despite its compact length of 4.1 meters, the SUV offers a generous 475-liter boot and a driving range of up to 425 kilometers.

The Epiq is the first Škoda model to fully embrace the Modern Solid design language. Clean surfaces, a closed grille, retractable door handles, T-shaped LED headlights, and a continuous rear light strip define its bold look. Details like aero-optimized wheels highlight the balance between practicality and contemporary styling.

Inside, Škoda has opted for minimalism paired with everyday usability. A central high-resolution touchscreen, digital driver display, wireless charging, and the brand’s signature “Simply Clever” touches — from hidden compartments to bag hooks — emphasize functionality. Eco-friendly materials add to the appeal, while rear passengers benefit from a cleverly integrated folding table.

Technically, Epiq is expected to come with two battery options: 38 kWh and 56 kWh. Both versions are reported to provide a range exceeding 400 kilometers. Bidirectional charging support could turn the vehicle into a power source for households or devices, further underlining its practical nature.

Production will take place at Volkswagen’s Navarra plant in Spain as part of the EUCF program. For Škoda, this marks an important milestone, reinforcing the idea that electric cars can be stylish, smart, and suitable for everyday use.

Competition is already shaping up with the Renault 5 EV, Citroën e-C3, and Volkswagen ID.2. Yet Škoda’s strength has long been in offering clear, practical cars aimed at mass-market needs. If the production model stays true to the balance of price, design, and technology, Epiq could establish itself as a strong contender in the growing EV segment.
