The Kia EV4 GT-Line blends long range, modern design, and advanced tech in a compact EV that makes electric mobility more accessible to everyday drivers.

Kia is advancing further into the compact electric car market with the new EV4 — a model designed to blend everyday practicality, modern design, and impressive efficiency. This compact EV is aimed not only at urban mobility but also at longer journeys, combining comfort and technology usually reserved for higher segments.

At 4.45 meters long and 1.86 meters wide, the EV4 sits between a hatchback and a crossover. The GT-Line version looks especially confident, with contrasting exterior details, sharp lines, and Kia’s distinctive lighting signature giving it a dynamic edge. Inside, the cabin strikes a balance between minimalism and functionality: soft materials, logical ergonomics, and three digital displays for instruments, climate control, and infotainment. The layout follows Kia’s modern style — intuitive digital controls paired with tactile buttons where they matter.

Power comes from a single drivetrain configuration: a 150 kW (204 hp) front-mounted electric motor delivering 283 Nm of torque. The EV4 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds, with a top speed limited to 170 km/h. Buyers can choose between two battery packs — 58.3 or 81.4 kWh. The smaller one allows up to 440 km of range, while the larger reaches about 584 km, with some tests showing even more. Charging via AC takes roughly seven hours, and a DC fast charge from 10% to 80% takes about 31 minutes. A useful Vehicle-to-Load function lets you power external devices like an e-bike or grill.

On the road, the EV4 feels composed and well-balanced. The suspension prioritizes comfort without sacrificing stability, making the car easy to handle on highways and responsive in curves. Cabin noise is minimal even at 100 km/h. Steering is precise, though not overtly sporty, and regenerative braking can be adjusted from light coasting to strong deceleration, enabling near one-pedal driving in city traffic.

The EV4’s standard equipment is generous, featuring a digital cockpit, dual-zone climate control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a full suite of driver-assistance systems — including adaptive cruise control and lane keeping. The GT-Line trim adds premium touches such as a Harman Kardon sound system, head-up display, and panoramic glass roof.

Interior space is a pleasant surprise: despite compact dimensions, rear passengers enjoy ample legroom and headroom. The trunk holds 435 liters, expandable to 1,415 liters with the rear seats folded. The EV4 can also tow up to 1,000 kg, adding practicality for travel.

In real-world conditions, consumption averages around 18.9 kWh/100 km — slightly above the official 16.2 kWh, but still excellent considering terrain and temperature. Pricing starts at €37,490 for the base model and rises to about €49,500 for the GT-Line with the larger battery. Given its range, comfort, and equipment, the EV4 stands out as one of the most balanced choices in its class.

Kia’s EV4 isn’t about radical innovation but about accessibility. It’s an electric car that delivers comfort, usability, and genuine everyday capability — wrapped in a confident, expressive design. In many ways, it’s exactly what mainstream electric mobility needs right now.
