MINI and Paul Smith are joining forces once again — this time their collaboration takes the spotlight at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 in Tokyo. The new MINI Paul Smith Edition will make its world debut on October 29 during the BMW Group Keynote presentation.
The partnership between the British brand and the iconic designer has spanned more than two decades. It began in 1998, when a classic Mini Cooper was wrapped in Paul Smith’s signature stripes. A year later came a one-off 40th anniversary edition, followed by the minimalist MINI Strip in 2021 and the electric MINI Recharged in 2022 — projects that explored sustainable design and creative reuse. Now, Smith’s design philosophy returns to MINI in a new form.
Details of the new edition remain under wraps. What’s known is that it will be part of the BMW Group exhibit at Tokyo Big Sight’s West Hall. After the debut, the car will also be showcased at the MINI Roppongi showroom from October 31 to November 17.
Alongside the special edition, MINI will present its full current lineup — from the all-electric Cooper SE to the sporty John Cooper Works Aceman. These models underline the brand’s commitment to electric mobility and its ability to blend recognizable style with advanced technology.
The Japan Mobility Show, one of the world’s leading stages for future mobility concepts, will bring together over 130 exhibitors. From October 29 to November 9, Tokyo will once again serve as a meeting point for innovation — and MINI seems ready to demonstrate how tradition and progress can coexist within a single emblem.
