Nissan has unveiled its Japan Mobility Show 2025 booth — a striking monochrome installation inspired by Japan’s manga culture. The space transforms into a cityscape drawn in black and white, where sharp lines and crosswalk patterns immerse visitors in a living comic. At the center, beneath a massive NISSAN sign, stands the all-new Elgrand, covered in black cloth ahead of its world premiere on October 29 at 10:40 a.m. JST.
The concept aligns with this year’s JMS theme, »Culture, Creation and Future.” For Nissan, the manga aesthetic is more than decoration — it’s a dialogue between tradition and technology, past and future. Visitors are invited to bring their own color and energy, turning the booth into an evolving, participatory experience.
Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan’s Senior Vice President of Global Design, emphasized that the project celebrates Japan’s creative spirit, showing how artistry and engineering can merge to shape the future of mobility. This approach continues the company’s design philosophy known as »Timeless Japanese Futurism,” which has already defined models like the Ariya and IMk.
Beyond the Elgrand’s premiere, Nissan will showcase an updated lineup for the Japanese market along with new electrification and smart mobility technologies. Together they form a single narrative — a monochrome city where the crossroads of imagination and innovation reveal what the next era of movement might look like.
