Volkswagen and Walt Disney Animation Studios announce a global collaboration for Zootopia 2, featuring custom ID. models and Shakira’s new song “Zoo”.

Volkswagen and Walt Disney Animation Studios have teamed up for the highly anticipated release of Zootopia 2, set to hit theaters on November 26, 2025. As part of the collaboration, three specially animated cars inspired by the Volkswagen ID.3, ID.4, and ID.7 Tourer will appear in the film. Within the world of the movie, the brand takes on a playful twist as “Wolfswagen,” a nod to Volkswagen’s hometown of Wolfsburg.

The partnership marks the launch of a global 360-degree campaign from Volkswagen. At its center is a 30-second co-branded spot created with Disney, featuring “Zootopified” electric models and set to Shakira’s new song “Zoo”, co-written with Ed Sheeran and Blake Slatkin. The track debuted on October 10, while the full soundtrack will be released on November 21.

Christine Wolburg, Volkswagen’s Chief Brand Officer, noted that emotional storytelling allows the company to connect with new audiences. She emphasized that Zootopia 2 reflects values like challenging prejudice and exploring new paths — principles that align with Volkswagen’s vision.

In Germany, the campaign includes leasing promotions for the Golf, ID.7 Tourer, and T-Cross, while globally it serves to highlight the ID. electric lineup and reinforce Volkswagen’s identity as a progressive and sustainable brand. The initiative also continues the company’s tradition of pop-culture collaborations following partnerships with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.

The film continues the adventures of Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as they tackle a new mystery in the bustling animal metropolis. With Shakira returning as Gazelle and performing the vibrant new song “Zoo”, Zootopia 2 is poised to blend humor, heart, and music once again — and Volkswagen’s animated presence adds a clever touch to the story’s lively world.
