Audi Concept C ushers in a new chapter for electric sports cars

Audi introduces the Concept C, a fully electric roadster that defines its new design era with clarity, emotion, and precision, previewing the 2027 production model.

The Audi Concept C marks a turning point in the brand’s design philosophy. First unveiled in Milan in early September and later showcased at the IAA in Munich, the fully electric roadster reflects Audi’s vision for the future of its sports cars—combining technical precision, visual clarity, intelligence, and emotion. These four pillars now define the company’s new design identity.

Unlike typical concept cars, the Concept C is street-legal, allowing its design principles to be experienced behind the wheel. Its proportions and surfaces form a confident, sculptural presence, while the interior transforms every interaction into a sensory experience. Every element—from the materials to the distinctive “Audi click”—demonstrates attention to touch and sound. Technology remains discreet, with a foldable 10.4-inch display that appears only when needed, maintaining a calm and focused atmosphere.

This new direction is the first major project by Chief Creative Officer Massimo Frascella, who introduced the idea of “radical simplicity.” His vision is evident in the car’s clean lines and intuitive interface. CEO Gernot Dollner has confirmed that the production version, expected in 2027, is already 90 percent complete, making the Concept C a near-final preview of Audi’s next electric sports car generation.

Critics have drawn parallels to the upcoming Porsche 718 EV, Polestar 6, and even the Tesla Roadster. Yet Audi’s approach differs: the Concept C emphasizes harmony between design, emotion, and engineering rather than sheer performance figures. It continues the spirit of the TT and R8, projecting it into an electric era defined by elegance, precision, and innovation.
