Maserati and Alfa Romeo deliver high-performance cars to Carabinieri for medical missions
Maserati MCPura and Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio were officially delivered to the Italian Carabinieri for urgent transport of organs and blood, marking a new stage in Stellantis collaboration.
In Rome, the official handover of two unique cars designed to save lives took place at the General Command of the Carabinieri. Stellantis presented the Maserati MCPura and the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio — vehicles that will now be used for urgent transportation of organs and blood.
Both models received institutional livery and special equipment to ensure safe and rapid transport of biological materials. The Maserati MCPura, built in Modena and designed by Maserati Centro Stile, features a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 Nettuno engine with 630 horsepower and a carbon-fiber monocoque. This evolution of the MC20 emphasizes aerodynamic refinement and the concept of mechanical purity.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, produced in Cassino, comes with a 520-hp twin-turbo V6, rear-wheel drive, and a self-locking differential. The Carabinieri version remains close to the civilian model: it adds emergency lights, communication equipment, and uses a certified cooled medical bag secured on the rear seat for organ transport.
The ceremony was attended by General Salvatore Luongo and Stellantis executives Antonio Filosa, Emanuele Cappellano, Santo Ficili, and Antonella Bruno. Luongo emphasized that the partnership represents a union of technological excellence and public service, calling the vehicles “tools for saving lives.”
For Maserati, this marks its first collaboration with the Carabinieri, while for Alfa Romeo it continues a legacy dating back to 1951 with the 1900 M “Matta.” Since then, the brand’s cars have been synonymous with speed and reliability within Italy’s law enforcement services.
Although Stellantis has not disclosed future plans in this field, the current initiative already stands as an example of how high-end automotive technology can directly serve the public good.
