Volkswagen releases final data for the Golf GTI Edition 50, confirming power, performance package, and pricing before the 2026 launch. Updated specs follow earlier Nürburgring debut.

Volkswagen has released updated and final details for the Golf GTI Edition 50, providing more precise data than the earlier announcement made during the 24-hour Nürburgring race. The previous report introduced the car in prototype form; the new information confirms its production specifications, equipment, and pricing for the 2026 market launch.

The anniversary GTI delivers 239 kW (325 PS) and 420 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds and reaching a top speed of 270 km/h. Built on the familiar GTI architecture with a MacPherson front axle and a multi-link rear, the Edition 50 sits 15 mm lower than a standard Golf. Standard features include DCC adaptive suspension and 19-inch Queenstown alloy wheels finished in red glaze.

The optional Edition 50 GTI Performance package adds Bridgestone Potenza Race semi-slicks on forged Warmenau wheels, a titanium R-Performance exhaust system, and a revised suspension with −2° front camber and an extra 5 mm drop. Weight is reduced by about 30 kg. In this setup, Benny Leuchter set a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time of 07:46.13 — the fastest ever recorded by a production Golf.

Design details highlight the car’s exclusive status: GTI 50 logos on the spoiler and mirrors, a black-painted roof, and a distinctive Black-to-Tornado Red stripe. Inside, check-pattern sport seats with dark-green accents, red seatbelts, and a “50 Years GTI” steering wheel badge complete the tribute to five decades of GTI heritage.
