Hyundai presents IONIQ 9 Off-Road Concept at SEMA 2025 with BigTime

Hyundai unveils the IONIQ 9 Off-Road Concept at the 2025 SEMA Show, designed with BigTime to showcase electric adventure power and creative EV customization.

At the 2025 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Hyundai introduced its new vision of electric adventure with the IONIQ 9 Off-Road Concept, a collaboration with creative duo BigTime — automotive personalities Jeremiah Burton and Zach Jobe. The project reimagines what an electric SUV can be, pushing beyond city limits into a landscape built for exploration.

The concept stands out with its lifted suspension, aggressive all-terrain tires, and a custom auxiliary light bar, all underscoring its rugged capability. Beneath the adventurous look lies Hyundai’s dual-motor AWD setup, delivering up to 422 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque in the Calligraphy trim.

BigTime’s creators drew inspiration from their 1977 cabover truck, nicknamed “Bud,” infusing the concept with a nostalgic yet forward-thinking character. The result is a fusion of vintage cues and modern electric engineering — a playful nod to the brand’s evolving design language.

Displayed in SEMA’s Future Tech Studio, the IONIQ 9 marks Hyundai’s intention to show that EVs can be as bold and fun as they are efficient. While no production plans have been announced, the concept’s presence signals the brand’s growing curiosity about off-road styling and EV customization.
