Opel introduces the new Mokka GSE, its fastest all-electric SUV, featuring 281 hp, rally-inspired technology, and sustainable design choices. Learn more.

Opel has completed the Mokka lineup by unveiling its new electric flagship, the Mokka GSE. This model becomes the brand’s fastest all-electric production vehicle, continuing the design and technology balance that earned it the title of “Best Design Innovation of the Year 2025” in the small SUV category.

At its heart, the Mokka GSE features a 207 kW (281 hp) electric motor delivering 345 Nm of torque. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 200 km/h. More than just numbers, these figures mark Opel’s transition to a new era of electric performance. The car carries over technology from the Mokka GSE Rally prototype, including a Torsen multi-plate limited-slip differential, revised suspension, and hydraulic dampers.

The interior embodies the ideas of “Detox” and “Greenovation”, with no chrome elements and the use of recycled materials. A vegan steering wheel, Alcantara GSE Performance seats, and an advanced infotainment setup with dual 10-inch displays and “Hey Opel” voice control define the cockpit. The integration of ChatGPT via SoundHound Chat AI adds an intelligent layer of interactivity, enabling natural communication between driver and car.

The Mokka family now includes fully electric, hybrid, and petrol versions. The Electric variant with a 54 kWh battery offers up to 403 km of range (WLTP), while the Hybrid combines a 1.2-litre turbo engine and a 48-volt system for improved efficiency. For those who prefer traditional driving, a petrol option remains available.

According to reports from German and UK sources, the Mokka continues to be one of Opel’s core models in Europe, though specific sales figures remain undisclosed. In the UK, under the Vauxhall badge, the Mokka Electric enjoys strong demand in the compact SUV segment. In Germany, it retains solid recognition, highlighting the relevance of Opel’s chosen path.

The GSE line is set to become the cornerstone of Opel’s future performance models. At the 2025 IAA Mobility show, the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo concept debuted, and industry observers expect more GSE entries to follow. All signs suggest that the Mokka GSE marks a turning point for Opel — where electric power meets emotion and speed.
