For more than a decade, students of the Skoda Auto Vocational School have been building cars that capture the spirit of creativity and engineering freedom. A new online quiz invites fans to test their knowledge of ten unique student creations that blend tradition with innovation.

It all began in 2014 with the Citijet — a compact convertible based on the Citigo, unveiled at the Wörthersee festival. This model launched the Azubi Car project, which has since become a proud symbol of Skoda’s technical education. Each year, around thirty apprentices transform production models into striking concepts, designing and building every detail themselves.

Among these are the Funstar pickup based on the Fabia, also shown at Wörthersee, and the Atero coupe with a 1,800-watt audio system. Later came the electric Element, inspired by a beach buggy, and the Sunroq — a convertible Karoq named by Skoda fans. The Mountiaq pickup, built on a Kodiaq chassis, embodied adventure, while the open-top Slavia paid tribute to the historic 1100 OHC racer and the brand’s roots.

Recent years brought even bolder ideas. The Afriq merged a Kamiq body with the all-wheel-drive technology from the Octavia 4×4, creating a rally-ready machine. The Roadiaq reimagined mobility, turning the electric Enyaq into a camper-office equipped with internet access and workspace. The latest project, the L&K 130 based on the Superb Combi, returns to the origins of Skoda — the bicycle era of Laurin & Klement. Designed as a cycling support car, it can carry up to three bikes and highlights the brand’s sporting spirit.

Each student car is more than a workshop exercise. For many apprentices, Azubi Car became the first step in a lifelong career — several now work as designers, engineers, or technicians within Skoda itself. The new quiz not only celebrates these achievements but also reflects the company’s commitment to passing on creativity, craftsmanship, and tradition to future generations.
