Bentley unveils 2025 Bentayga EWB Azure Remembrance Car
Bentley presents a one-of-a-kind 2025 Bentayga EWB Azure dedicated to colleagues lost 85 years ago in Crewe, paying tribute through design and remembrance.
Bentley has unveiled the 2025 Bentayga EWB Azure Remembrance Car, a unique creation dedicated to the 17 employees who lost their lives 85 years ago during the bombing of the Crewe factory. The tragedy occurred on December 29, 1940, when a German bomber struck the Rolls-Royce shadow factory producing Merlin engines for the Spitfire. Since then, this story has become part of Bentley’s heritage, and the annual Remembrance Car project stands as its emotional tribute.
The new Bentayga’s design tells the story in visual form. Its Satin Artica White body features the silhouette of an aircraft from which poppies appear to fall, growing larger toward the base — a moving depiction of remembrance. Gold initials on the pillars commemorate the 17 lost colleagues, while the number 85 on the grille marks the anniversary of the event. Together, these details transform design into a language of memory.
The project was developed by the Bentley Design team in collaboration with BeReady, the company’s internal network for veterans and reservists. For BeReady members, this car carries a profound significance — connecting personal histories, corporate identity, and a shared sense of gratitude for those who served.
This is not the first tribute of its kind. Since 2022, Bentley has created annual Remembrance Cars marking significant historical moments. The 2024 edition commemorated the 80th anniversary of D-Day. The 2025 model becomes the fourth in this meaningful series, reaffirming Bentley’s commitment to tradition and remembrance.
Throughout November 2025, the Remembrance Car will appear at key events — from the ceremony in Crewe to the Race of Remembrance in Anglesey, organized by Mission Motorsport. There, it will serve as the official course car during a race that unites veterans and civilians in shared reflection. The car will later return to Crewe and be displayed at the His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire Awards.
For Bentley, this project is more than a design statement — it is an act of respect. Having earned Silver status under the UK’s Armed Forces Covenant, the company continues to support the armed forces community. The 2025 Remembrance Car transforms memory into motion, honoring sacrifice through craftsmanship and purpose.
