Warranty Solutions Group’s 2025 study names Lexus the UK’s most reliable car brand, based on over 15,000 warranty claims between December 2024 and November 2025.

Lexus has once again confirmed its reputation for reliability, topping the 2025 ranking by Warranty Solutions Group (WSG). The study analysed more than 15,000 authorised warranty claims filed between December 2024 and November 2025, focusing only on brands with sufficient active warranties to ensure statistical accuracy.

Lexus owners made warranty claims at the lowest rate — just 5.79%, with an average repair cost of £639.23. Toyota and Suzuki followed, reinforcing the dominance of Japanese manufacturers. Across all 35 brands reviewed, the average claim rate stood at 28.3%, with an average cost of £621.49.

According to WSG, Bentley recorded the highest average repair cost at £1,749 per claim, while Porsche averaged £1,169. On the other hand, Honda, Dacia, and Mazda all achieved claim rates below 17%, placing them among the most dependable marques in the UK market.

The most common faults involved batteries, ABS sensors, and water pumps. While such issues are predictable and manageable, WSG experts point out that the more expensive failures — including diesel particulate filters and steering racks — continue to challenge dealers and workshop operators.

WSG representatives emphasised that analysing live warranty data enables dealers to identify fault trends early and build more effective aftersales strategies. The company’s reports note that those who use claims data proactively can improve warranty planning, protect margins, and strengthen customer trust.

Findings from other independent surveys align with WSG’s analysis. Lexus ranked first in the J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study 2025 and also topped the What Car? Reliability Survey. Analysts suggest that this consistency not only underscores the brand’s engineering strength but also enhances its residual values in the used car market.
