At Agritechnica 2025, MAN Truck & Bus introduced the TGS 18.540 4x4 agricultural truck, combining traction, efficiency, and safety for modern farming logistics.

At Agritechnica 2025, MAN Truck & Bus unveiled the new MAN TGS 18.540 4x4 agricultural truck, designed specifically for the demanding work between the field and the processing plant. The premiere took place within the broader MAN Engines showcase under the motto “Powering the green transformation – off-road solutions for the future”, highlighting the company’s focus on sustainable heavy-duty technologies.

The TGS 18.540 is powered by the proven D2676 engine with 12.4 liters of displacement, meeting the Euro 6e standard and delivering 540 hp and 2,650 Nm of torque. Paired with the automated 12-speed MAN TipMatic transmission and permanent all-wheel drive, it ensures strong traction both on the road and on wet terrain. Wide agricultural tires reduce soil pressure, while the hydraulic system with up to 100 l/min flow rate provides precise control of trailers and implements.

Driver comfort was given particular attention. The medium-length NN cab combines compact dimensions with practicality, while the MAN Individual Lion S package adds visual character with carbon details, LED headlights, and red accents. Inside, the truck features a modern digital cockpit with MAN SmartSelect control, designed for safe operation even on uneven terrain. Safety systems include Lane Return Assist, ACC Stop & Go, a reversing camera, and the powerful PriTarder engine brake delivering up to 625 kW. Behind the cab, a ROPS roll bar increases protection in case of overturning.

The vehicle is classified as an LOF agricultural and forestry truck, exempting it from Sunday driving bans and tachograph requirements. Equipped with both fifth-wheel coupling and trailer bracket, the TGS can be adapted for various transport tasks in agriculture.

German and Austrian trade media note a steady rise in interest toward the Agro-Truck segment, with more farmers opting for truck-based solutions thanks to their balance of power, efficiency, and versatility. With MAN Engines expanding its lineup and presenting new battery systems, it is likely that MAN will continue to evolve this segment—maintaining a careful balance between conventional diesel power and innovative green technology.
