Acura ARX-06, as reported by Honda Racing Corporation US, completes successful IMSA preseason tests at Daytona with updated aero and strong session results.

The updated Acura ARX-06 delivered a strong statement during the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship preseason test at Daytona International Speedway, where the two Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian entries—cars #60 and #93—combined to lead three of the five sessions and showed consistent pace across both days.

The #93 crew set the tone on the opening day. Nick Yelloly and Renger van der Zande shared fastest-lap honors in both sessions, with Yelloly’s 1:35.725 standing as the quickest time of the entire weekend in the GTP class. Four-time NTT IndyCar Series champion Alex Palou also took part in the program, contributing experience as the team evaluated the refreshed aero package and new Michelin tire compound.

The #60 car added its own highlight when Colin Braun topped the first session of day two, ahead of full-season teammate Tom Blomqvist and AJ Allmendinger, who completed his first laps in GTP machinery. Both Acura entries logged high mileage—411 laps for #93 and 394 for #60—allowing engineers to collect extensive data on the revised aerodynamics, including updated front elements, rear surfaces, and bodywork changes linked to new exhaust regulations.

Honda Racing Corporation USA President David Salters emphasized that the test marked an important step in evaluating improvements ahead of the ARX-06’s fourth season in GTP. He noted the significance of understanding Michelin’s updated tire specifications and highlighted the value of the data gathered with only weeks remaining before the season’s opening events.

Preseason testing at Daytona traditionally offers an early glimpse into the competitive order within GTP. Against this backdrop, Acura’s steady performance appears encouraging. The ARX-06 continues to evolve within the LMDh regulatory framework, supported by close technical collaboration with HRC US. Still, testing is only a preview—the real assessment will unfold at Roar Before the 24 and the Rolex 24 at Daytona, where the intensity and endurance of full-race conditions will provide a far more definitive measure of progress.
