CUPRA presents the Leon VZ TCR and limited Leon VZ series, sharing official overall performance data and highlighting their racing-inspired dynamic design.

The new CUPRA Leon VZ TCR arrives as a highly focused tribute to the brand’s racing heritage, bringing track-inspired engineering to everyday roads. It becomes the most powerful front-wheel-drive Leon ever made, equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine delivering 325 PS (239 kW) and 420 Nm of torque. Paired with a 7-speed DSG and an electronically controlled front differential lock, the setup enables acceleration to 100 km/h in around 5.6 seconds and allows drivers to experience its full potential thanks to the absence of a top-speed limiter.

Limited to just 499 units, the model pays homage to the racing Leon variants that have secured titles in TCR Europe, TCR UK, TCR Mexico, and TCR France, as well as victories in China and the United States. This background shapes the new edition’s character, reflected in its Adaptive Chassis Control, Akebono brakes with six-piston calipers, and wide 245 mm performance tyres.

The car’s design further underlines its motorsport DNA. A full aerodynamic package includes a roof spoiler, front and rear splitters, a diffuser, and carbon-fibre side mirror covers, while the interior features four-strap harnesses and removable rear seats—components that normally belong on a racing circuit. Each unit receives a laser-engraved serial number to highlight its exclusivity.

German automotive sources note that pricing is expected to be “significantly above €50,000”, though official figures have not yet been released. The model is scheduled for launch at the end of 2026. Earlier in the year, CUPRA will introduce the Leon VZ, a 1,500-unit limited edition powered by the same 325 PS engine, giving customers an earlier opportunity to experience the brand’s latest performance direction.

Together, these two models outline a clear performance strategy: first the more accessible Leon VZ, followed by the more extreme Leon VZ TCR, aimed at enthusiasts who value racing precision and limited-series exclusivity.
