Nissan Details the 2026 Rogue Plug-In Hybrid Debut and Key Features
Learn about the 2026 Nissan Rogue Plug-In Hybrid as presented by Nissan, including electric range, powertrain details and family-focused design features in this full breakdown.
Nissan has introduced its first plug-in hybrid for the U.S. market with the debut of the 2026 Rogue Plug-in Hybrid. The model marks a key step in the company’s electrification strategy and supports the broader Re:Nissan business plan. It is aimed at drivers who want the practicality of a traditional crossover while benefiting from electric driving capabilities.
The vehicle offers an estimated 38 miles of all-electric range according to preliminary EPA figures, while its combined electric and gasoline driving range reaches up to 420 miles. The powertrain consists of two electric motors, a lithium-ion battery of about 20 kWh, and a 2.4-liter gasoline engine. Total system output reaches 248 horsepower and 322 pound-feet of torque, giving the model noticeably stronger performance than the standard Rogue.
Intelligent all-wheel drive comes standard, along with seven selectable drive modes designed to adapt to varying road surfaces and weather conditions. Charging with a Level 2 home charger takes roughly 7.5 hours, which aligns with typical plug-in hybrid charging times. Independent reports also note that the model is likely not equipped with DC fast-charging capability.
The Rogue Plug-in Hybrid maintains its family-oriented layout with three rows of seating for up to seven passengers. The second row slides and reclines, making access to the third row easier. According to Car and Driver, cargo space behind the third row measures 12.8 cubic feet, with additional room available when the seats are folded down. Wide-opening rear doors and a motion-activated power liftgate enhance everyday usability.
The interior includes a 9-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wired Android Auto. The Platinum trim adds a head-up display and a Bose audio system. Standard safety equipment features 11 airbags, Nissan Safety Shield 360, and a 360-degree camera system.
Pricing for the U.S. market has not yet been announced, though external sources suggest it will sit above the gasoline-powered Rogue. There is also no confirmed information on whether the model will be offered in Europe; some German-language automotive outlets note that its potential European debut remains uncertain.
With growing interest in hybrid technology and Nissan’s commitment to revitalizing its lineup, the Rogue Plug-in Hybrid may strengthen the brand’s position in the family crossover segment. If pricing remains competitive, the model could appeal to buyers seeking flexibility in everyday driving without compromising long-distance capability.
