TELO Trucks Introduces Pre-Production MT1 – A Compact, All-Electric Pickup

TELO Trucks has unveiled the pre-production MT1, a compact electric pickup designed for urban mobility and versatility. Learn about its specs, range, pricing, and availability.
American startup TELO Trucks has taken a significant step in the evolution of electric pickups by unveiling the pre-production version of its compact TELO MT1 truck. This vehicle aims to carve out a unique space in the market with its small footprint, impressive cargo capabilities, and solid performance.
Small but Mighty
At 152 inches (3.86 meters) long, the MT1 is comparable to a MINI Cooper SE, yet it features a full five-seat cabin and a 60-inch (1.52-meter) cargo bed. With its midgate system, the bed extends to 96 inches (2.44 meters), accommodating 4×8-foot plywood sheets or longboards with ease.
The truck is available in multiple configurations. The base model comes with a 300-hp electric motor and rear-wheel drive, while an optional dual-motor, 500-hp all-wheel-drive version enables acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in just 4 seconds.
The standard battery offers 260 miles (418 km) of range, with an upgrade available to 350 miles (563 km). Fast-charging capability allows 20% to 80% charge in just 20 minutes, making it suitable for both city commutes and long trips.
Pricing and Availability
The starting price for the base TELO MT1 model is $41,250. Additional features include an extended-range battery (+$3,980) and a dual-motor AWD setup (+$4,769).
Production is expected to begin in early 2025, and TELO Trucks is already accepting pre-orders with a $152 deposit—a figure symbolizing the truck’s length in inches.
Competitive Edge
The MT1 enters the growing segment of compact electric pickups, blending urban-friendly dimensions with serious utility. Unlike traditional pickups designed for heavy-duty hauling, the TELO MT1 is optimized for city driving and everyday convenience.
With rising demand for sustainable, compact EVs, TELO Trucks might find a strong audience among urban drivers and outdoor enthusiasts.
