Geely Officially Launches EX5 SUV in Australia and New Zealand

Geely Auto has officially launched its latest electric SUV, the Geely EX5, in Australia and New Zealand, marking the company’s presence across five continents. This strategic move signals a new phase in Geely’s globalization and strengthens its position in the global EV market.
Geely follows a "one country, one policy" strategy, tailoring its business approach to fit local markets. In Australia, the company has established a regional subsidiary to integrate local dealers, suppliers, and partners. This localization effort ensures a more responsive and efficient customer experience.
Looking ahead, Geely has ambitious plans for 2025: by the end of the year, the number of dealerships in Australia and New Zealand will reach 24, with a long-term goal of expanding to over 100 locations. This expansion will help create a strong and convenient infrastructure for EV owners.
As Geely’s first global electric model, the EX5 incorporates the company’s latest innovations:
- Geely Short Blade Battery Technology – high-density battery technology offering enhanced safety and longevity.
- GEA Global New Energy Architecture – a flexible platform for next-generation EVs.

The EX5 has already proven its success in China, with over 100,000 units sold in just seven months. In Southeast Asia, it has gained traction in Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines, with further plans to enter 20+ international markets in 2025.
Over the next three years, Geely will continue expanding its product lineup with eight new EV models based on the GEA platform. The company is also set to strengthen its presence in the UK, Brazil, and South Africa, aiming for 1,100 global sales and service outlets by the end of 2025.
Another major milestone is the launch of the Geely · GO global user brand. This platform will connect 17 million Geely vehicle owners, fostering a global community for interaction, experience-sharing, and engagement.
With its rapid expansion and strong market strategy, Geely is well on its way to fulfilling its Geely 2030 Vision – a long-term growth plan aimed at securing a leading position in the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) sector and driving innovation in the industry.
