Alfa Romeo debuts the Junior Ibrida Q4, a hybrid crossover with AWD, Power Looping Technology, and MultiLink suspension. Discover its features, pricing, and market availability.

Alfa Romeo has completed the Junior lineup by introducing the all-new Ibrida Q4, a hybrid crossover that combines dynamic performance, fuel efficiency, and all-weather capability.

The powertrain features a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine producing 136 hp, paired with two 21 kW electric motors. One motor is integrated into the six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, while the second is mounted on the rear axle and equipped with a gearbox that increases torque to the rear wheels, enhancing traction and stability. This setup creates an AWD system without a mechanical link between the axles, ensuring optimal power distribution in various driving conditions. A standout feature is Power Looping Technology, which ensures the rear electric motor remains operational even when the battery is low, maintaining all-wheel drive capability on challenging terrain.

Another major upgrade is the introduction of MultiLink independent rear suspension, a first for this platform. Designed to improve ride comfort and handling, this advanced suspension system enhances stability and control, even on uneven surfaces. The springs, shock absorbers, and stabilizer bars have been specially developed for this configuration, delivering superior road absorption and driving precision.

The driver also benefits from four selectable driving modes via Alfa Romeo’s DNA selector:

  • Dynamic – maximizes performance for a sporty driving experience.
  • Natural – balances efficiency and comfort for daily commutes.
  • Q4 – adapts traction automatically for low-grip conditions, enhancing safety and control.
  • Advanced Efficiency – optimizes fuel consumption for a smoother, energy-efficient drive.

Efficiency is another key selling point. CO₂ emissions remain below 120 g/km, giving the Junior Ibrida Q4 one of the best performance-to-emission ratios in its segment. The absence of a physical connection between axles helps minimize weight gain, further improving fuel economy.

When it comes to equipment, the Junior Ibrida Q4 offers a premium package. The "Leggenda" trim includes 18-inch alloy wheels, Full LED headlights, and an upgraded interior. Inside, the heated Spiga seats, upholstered in vinyl and fabric, provide electric adjustment with a massage function for the driver and a manually adjustable passenger seat. Other highlights include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 10.25-inch infotainment system with navigation, a six-speaker audio system, aluminum pedals and door sills, and an 8-color ambient lighting system.

Standard features also include Level 2 autonomous driving, a 180° rearview camera, a hands-free electric tailgate, and a keyless entry system with proximity access technology.

Sales have already begun in several European markets. Prices start at €36,500 in Spain, €37,400 in France, and £27,895 in the UK.

For now, the Junior Ibrida Q4 stands out as one of the few compact crossovers offering intelligent all-wheel drive in a hybrid setup. Whether Power Looping Technology will extend to other Alfa Romeo models remains to be seen. However, it’s clear the brand is committed to blending performance, efficiency, and adaptability to meet the needs of modern drivers.
